The objective of the present study was to develop a detailed soil resource database for farm level planning using high resolution satellite data and digital elevation model. The study was carried out in Puinan village clusters of Polba-Dadpur block, Hugli district of West Bengal. The results revealed that the IRS LISS-IV satellite data and DEM integrated with cadastral map helps in delineation of physiographic cum photomorphic units and mapping soils at phase level at 1:12.500 scale. The soil resource database delivers the plot wise soil information to the farmers in terms of soil morphology, physio-chemical properties which are needed for developing sustainable land use plan.
