This study identifies the factors affecting adoption of wheat row planting practices by smallholder farmers in the study area. Both quantitative and qualitative approaches to achieve the study’s goals were used. Moreover cross sectional research design using random sampling technique was employed and data were gathered from 141 respondents. Sample respondents were selected from sample frame based on random sampling techniques. Focus group discussion and key informant interview tools also used. The data has been analyzed by using both descriptive statistics and econometric model (binary logistic regression) using Statistical package for social science software. The result of the study showed that improved seed, use of chemical, use of fertilizer, income of household, use of credit, education level of the household, contact of extension service and member of cooperative were statistically significant and positively influence adoption of wheat row planting and also membership in social network was statistically significant and negatively influence wheat row planting practice. Therefore, the study concludes that, Policies and strategies that focus on farmers’ education, extension linkage and implementation of extension package and entire stakeholders are helpful so as to achieve wider adoption of row planting technology of smallholder farmer in the study area.
