Examining a chain relationship of social support, job satisfaction and work family balance: A case of working women in Pakistan

Abstract

 

In the current arena, social support, job satisfaction and work-family balance are important issues with respect to the organizational studies. The current study examines the relationship of social support with job satisfaction. It also investigates the relationship of job satisfaction with work family balance among working women in Pakistan. It aims to provide empirical grounds for the said relationship in developing countries like Pakistan. The study is based on cross-sectional data gathered from working women in different public and private sector organizations. Statistical Package of Social Science (SPSS) 15.0 version was used for data analysis by application of Pearson’s correlation and Regression. The results indicate that social support is one of the integral parts of the satisfaction at job. So, it is highly recommended that the social support should be encouraged in the organizations and outside the organizations for better performance. While it is found that job satisfaction does not affect the work-family balance. This study enables the researchers, academicians and other stakeholders to enhance their understandings regarding selected variables in Pakistani environment.
