Abstract

The editors of the African Journal of Microbiology Research (AJMR) are retracting the article, “General steps in the production and establishment of transgenic chicken lines carrying a bacterial lacZ gene expressing β-galactosidase” published in 2012 (Vol. 6(20), pp. 4344-4354, 30 May, 2012).

This is because the data published were duplicated from a dissertation (submitted to the Graduate Faculty of North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC, United States of America) but presented as an original work.

Our decision is informed by well documented evidence provided by the original author and the corroboration of the erring authors to the theft of the article.
