A field experiment was conducted during 2017 cropping season in Burie District, Western Amhara to study the effects of seeding and NP fertilizers rates on yield components of bread wheat (Triticum aestivum L.). Factorial combinations of 4 seeding rates (100, 120, 150 and 200 kg ha-1) and 4 levels of NP fertilizers (64-46, 87-46, 96-69 and 119-69 kgha-1 of N and P2O5) were laid down in randomized complete block design with 3 replications. The main effects of seeding rate and NP fertilizer were significant on spike length, number of kernels per spike, 1000 kernels weight, grain and straw yield. Biomass yield was highly significantly affected by the interaction effects of seeding and NP fertilizers rates. Grain yield of bread wheat was positively affected by both seeding and NP fertilizers rate up to optimum level. When seeding rate increased from 100 to 150 kg ha-1, grain yield was increased by 16.87%. Similarly, as the level of NP fertilizer increased from 64-46 to 96-69, grain yield of bread wheat also increased by 16.49%. Application of 150 kg ha-1 seeding rate and 96-69 kg ha-1 of N-P2O5 fertilizers also gave the highest net benefit with acceptable range of marginal rate of return. Therefore, this treatment combination can be recommended tentatively for Burie District.
