This article aims to characterize the state of knowledge in the area of education management in contexts of Brazilian and international education, in order to scale its current breadth and to seek the contemporary references most used by the academic community, from the analysis of contents of the productions published in the last decade (2006 to 2015) and incorporated into the Scopus database - scientific articles category, descriptor: education management. It analyzes the 34 articles located in this period, and considered exclusively the area of social sciences and humanities. The data are treated according to the methodology of Bardin (2011) and represented graphically.
