The study investigated the policies and procedures involved in the transfer of non-academic staff within various departments in tertiary institutions in Ekiti State, Nigeria. The descriptive research design of the survey type was used for the study. Four public tertiary institutions were selected using simple random sampling technique. 17 heads of departments were purposively selected and 474 non-academic staff were selected using simple random sampling techniques from the tertiary institutions. Two self-designed questionnaires titled transfer policies and procedure questionnaire and non-academic staff job performance questionnaire were used as instruments for the study. The face and content validity of the instruments were ensured by experts while the reliability of the instruments were ensured using test re-test method. The reliability coefficient of 0.85 was gotten for transfer policies and procedure questionnaire and 0.90 was gotten for non-academic staff job performance questionnaire. The data collected were analyzed using frequency count and inferential statistics. Two research questions were raised and three hypotheses were formulated for the study. Mean and simple percentage was used to test the research questions while Pearson Product Correlation coefficient was used to test the hypotheses. The study confirmed a frequent practice of transfer policies and procedures of non-academic staff within the tertiary institutions in Ekiti State. The study revealed that transfer policies have significant relationship on the job performance of non-academic staff in tertiary institutions in Ekiti State. There was significant relationship between staff additional qualification and non-academic staff job performance. There was significant relationship between staff promotion and non-academic staff job performance. It was recommended that managements of tertiary institutions should make staff transfer as and when due a priority in other to help non-academic staff job performance to be at the best. Policies and procedures guiding transfer of non-academic staff should be well spelt out to make staff acquire knowledge in a large number of departments in their various institutions.
