This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of crossing Koekoek (KK) and Sasso (SS) chicken on egg quality traits. To fulfill this aim, a total of 720 eggs have been collected to test egg quality. Data have been collected for the variables such as:- egg, albumen, yolk and shell weight, shell thickness, shape index, yolk color, albumen and yolk height, yolk diameter, yolk index, egg strength, specific gravity and Haugh Unit (HU). Finally, the collected data were analysed using statistical analysis system (SAS, 2014, Version 9.3). The results obtained revealed that KS cross being superior in egg length (6.03), egg strength (3.75), albumen weight (39.57), albumen height (7.09) and yolk height (17.84) to SK cross. In summary, the resulting progenies from crosses of KK and SS were better than both parental breeds, thus suggesting that it is possible to be an encouraging factor for the poultry breeders to cross these two breeds (Koekoek male and Sasso female) to get hybrid vigor in egg quality.
