This study delves into the intersection of CA practices and the socio-economic characteristics of smallholder farmers in Hazyview. It explores the perceived benefits of CA adoption and delineates the socio-economic profile of farmers in the region. Using a random sampling method, 221 registered smallholder farmers were selected as participants. Data collection involved structured questionnaires, and the analysis encompassed descriptive statistics. Additionally, a binary logistic regression model was utilized to inferentially analyze the socio-economic factors influencing the adoption of CA. The study’s findings revealed that the majority of farmers perceived several benefits associated with the adoption of conservation agriculture (CA), such as controlling soil erosion (mean score = 4.03), increasing production (MS = 4.01), saving money (MS = 3.95) and labour (MS = 3.77), reducing soil degradation (MS = 3.62), and improving soil fertility (MS = 3.49). The results of the binary logistic regression model showed that three factors had statistically significant influence on the adoption of CA: age of respondents, level of education, and extension visits (p<0.01). Additionally, training on CA also had a statistically significant influence on adoption, although at a slightly higher significance level (p<0.05). Based on the study's findings, it is recommended that tailored training programs should be developed, considering the diverse needs and circumstances of the farmers, including factors such as gender, age, and education
