This study aims to investigate the influence of internet on family connections in joint family & relative system in Pakistani society. The findings of the study showed that internet has very strong impact on the social capital of low income & middle income demographics with having slight influence on high income class in Pakistan. The researchers also found that internet has great impact on females; students and youths as compared to males. The researchers adopted survey study as qualitative research methodology & the data was collected through sample size of 500 questionnaires distributed in different localities of Lahore. The data collected from 425 respondents was analyzed through Special Package of Social Sciences to ensure possible objectivity. The study showed that 73 percent of the respondents agreed that they use internet to expand their social connections and affiliation. Some 59 percent respondents agreed that they used internet in searching their old family friends and renewed their disconnected relations. However, the study revealed that 40 percent respondents claimed that using internet also disturbed their social linkage with family members and family friends in real life. The results further endorsed the hypothesis; which were set as the usage of internet increases virtual connectivity and socialization in Pakistani society.
