The African Journal of Medical and Health Sciences (AJMHS) is a peer-reviewed journal. AJMHS is the official journal of Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki, Nigeria. Established in 1973 by the Federal Government of Nigeria, the Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki is a tertiary health institution. Nigeria. The institution is dedicated to medical research as well as training of medical doctors and other healthcare providers.
 
Aims and Scope
The journal is devoted to the advancement and dissemination of knowledge in all areas of Medical and Health Sciences. AJMHS aims to promote studies in all areas of the subject such as the basic health sciences, surgery, paediatrics, emergency medicine, cardiology, critical care, oncology and others.
 
AJMHS welcomes original manuscripts that provide new insight into matters of interest to researchers, practitioners and policymakers. AJMHS also seeks to actively promote novel solutions to medical and health issues originating from or predominantly related to Africa.
 
Types of Articles
AJMHS welcomes submission of full-length research articles, short communications, case studies and review articles. In addition, the journal also welcomes letters and commentaries to the editor. Please see Instruction for Authors for complete details.
