Lycium barbarum polysaccharide（LBP）extracted from lycium barbarum. As the main active ingredient of traditional chinese lycium barbarum, LBP has been proved to own the effects of protecting reproductive system, regulating immunity, delaying senescence, resisting radiation and hypoxia and so on. In recent years, the field of traditional chinese medicine has paid much attention to the multiple medicinal value of LBP, among which the protective effect on reproductive system is one of the hot spots at present. A large body of evidence has demonstrated that LBP can repair the damage of male testicles. In this paper, the status of male injury and the research progress on the protective effect of LBP on reproductive system and related mechanisms were reviewed.
