In the current context of sustainable and efficient management of natural resources, issues related to the well-being of local population depend on the good ecological status of its environment and the ecosystem services they provide. Forests are highly degraded because of anthropogenic factors. It is in this context that this study was conducted in “the reserve de faune de Douala-Edéa (RFDE”)”, to evaluate the ecosystem services and their degradation factors. The semi-structured survey method, interviews and direct observation allowed the identification of activities carried out by the population, ecosystem goods and services on provide by the reserve as well as their values of direct and indirect use. For the assessment of the impact of degradation factors, the proposed method is based on the recommendations of the International Council for the Exploitation of the Sea for the management of fishing activities. The results showed that the major activity of the population is fishing, the most exploited resources are fish, clam and wood. Four ecosystem services, supply, culture, support and regulation are derived from reserve. But these ecosystems services are subject to anthropogenic activities such as: poaching, overfishing, over-burning agriculture (bushfire) that can affect the supply of these services. The anthropogenic activities exert considerable pressure on the RFDE ecosystem.
