The paper assessed the level of awareness of Library and Information Science profession among secondary school students in Kebbi State, North-Western Nigeria. Survey research method was used. Questionnaire was used as instrument for data collection. Out of the five hundred copies of questionnaire administered to the group under study, 447 (89.4%) were completed and returned. The results obtained revealed that majority of the respondents were aware of Librarianship. However, most of them did not choose it as a course of study in the university for many reasons such as lack of awareness of the universities that offer the course, lack of places to work after graduation, lack of money in Librarianship and many more. Based on the findings, some appropriate recommendations were offered with a view to motivating the group under study to choose Librarianship as one of their courses of study in the university.
