Noise emissions close to venues where academic activities take place are one of the main causes of noise pollution to which people working at UNAN - Managua are exposed. Noise pollution also has a negative impact on the development of academic activities that take place within the Carlos Fonseca University Campus (RUCFA) and the Rubén DarÃo University Campus (RURD).The methodology for obtaining, processing data and expressing noise measurements is based on studies carried out in other open places in the city of Managua. It is developed based on experience in the application of noise measurement protocols that have been systematized in countries where research is conducted on these issues. Noise measurements were made in both enclosures, the data are presented in noise maps showing the levels of sound pressure obtained. The results obtained show that there is a high level of noise pollution in the enclosures where noise measurements were made. The highest noise levels were recorded in the RUCFA, with values exceeding 100 dB in some cases, due to vehicular traffic and noise produced in the market located near the measurement stations. At other sites, noise levels of less than 35 dB were found at stations within the enclosures, where there is noise attenuation in some classrooms and offices in the enclosures. Nicaragua's national legislation regarding environmental noise adopts noise exposure limit values recommended by the World Health Organization, however these values have been considered for conditions other than the context of environmental conditions (physical, social, economic , etc.) from Nicaragua.
