This review assessed climate change and variability and its impact on crop production in Ethiopia. Comprehensive review of available secondary data from internet (Google Scholar and Scinapse) was used to access the impact of climate change on crop production. The result showed that now a day’s climate change and variability is a real phenomenon and affecting agricultural productivity, especially crop production (the most sensitive one). Several studies have been conducted on different issues regarding to the climate of Ethiopia. Thus, both climate change and variability are common in Ethiopia and their fluctuation is in both temporal and spatial manner. In the country, crop production is highly vulnerable to climate change and variability impacts due to different geophysical (fluctuations in different climate elements and location) and socioeconomic reasons. As a result yields amount has been declining time to time in different part of the country. Therefore, since climate related issues are complex and uncertain, further detail study in different aspect should be necessary to have more updated and comprehensive data to understand the impact on crop production at grass root level.
