The incidence of the sweet potato weevil under the field condition were studied in two different cultivars namely Villupuram local (Red) and Karur local (White). The insects population Cylas formicarius were assessed first, second and third spray at 30 day after interval of planting. The lowest insect population was recorded in stem cuttings dipping with imidachloprid @ 22.25 g a.i. ha-1 (4.83) followed by acephate @ 468.75 g a.i. ha-1 as foliar application (5.00) and neem oil 3 per cent foliar application (5.16) and control was registered highest population. While comparing the impact of cultivars on the incidence of sweet potato weevil, on the first DAS, the Villupuram local (Red) cultivar (10.70) was performed better than the Karur local (White) cultivar (12.16) by way of accommodating less of sweet potato weevils per plant.
