Laboratory experiment was carried at the Department of Nano Science and Technology, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore during 2013-2014 to fabricate the slow release nanoencapsulated herbicide. In this experiment the pre-emergence herbicide pendimethalin was encapsulated using direct method. Thus encapsulated pendimethalin particles were characterized using scanning electron microscope (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and Particle size analyzer. The direct method effectively encapsulated the pendimethalin particles and released slowly throughout the study period of 40 days.
