Breeding programmes for resistance to angular leaf spot (ALS) in common bean have relied on a range of sources of resistance. However, due to the occurrence of many different races of the pathogen, the sources of resistance may not always be effective in all the regions. This study was conducted to identify new sources of resistance to ALS. A total of Seventy five genotypes of common bean were screened for resistance during kharief 2008 and 2009. The results showed that the response of the genotypes to ALS during the two years was similar. The study further revealed that under natural epiphytotic condition only five genotypes viz., SKUA-R-3, SKUA-R-16, SKUA-R-34, PBG-15 and PBG-32 exhibited resistance reaction. Rest of the genotypes were moderately susceptible to the disease except SKUA-R-13, SKUA-R-29, SKUA-R-32, PBG-3 and PBG-21which were susceptible or highly susceptible in reaction
