Abstract
Nowadays we are all more conscious of the need to preserve fresh water. With the always increasing requirement for water by growing populations worldwide, it is understandable to try to find more uses for the plentiful saline water supplies that exist, mostly in the oceans. The poor quality irrigation water is an important problem in arid and semiarid regions of the world which include one third of the earth. Fresh water resources which are very low, creating only 3% of the total water retains are excessively used. Dwelling 97% water in seas is immoderately saline and usually not proper for large scale exploitation in medicinal and aromatic plants farming. Also, medicinal and aromatic plants have been an integral part of our daily life for times immemorial. This review may give applicable advice to commercial farmers and medicinal and aromatic plants researchers for management and proper use of water in medicinal and aromatic plants farming.
