This paper tackles positioning youth for entrepreneurship in Uganda. Uganda is endowed with one of the youngest population in the world which can be harnessed for productivity and development. However, youth continue to face misery, unemployment, poverty hence susceptible to shocks and extreme difficulties like COVID-19. Entrepreneurship is sought as best approach towards drawing inspiration, and enhancing youth potentials towards contributing to development. The paper aimed to establish how youth can be enabled to exploit available opportunities and programmes towards effective entrepreneurship. Borrowing from Positive Youth Development (PYD) framework, it is fundamental to create an enabling environment and resilient generation that can strive in entrepreneurship. The descriptive study on 225 youth beneficiaries of government entrepreneurial programme triangulated survey with more qualitative approaches. The study established that entrepreneurial training, incentivisation, effective teambuilding, needs assessment and inclusive planning, partnership with independent organisations, and developing youth policy to protect youth ventures are formidable strategies towards enticing youth for entrepreneurship. Holistic training must embrace local setting and builds youth inspiration. The study recommends involvement of parents, guardians and community members in designing youth programmes, prior understanding of youth problems, continuous psychosocial support and establishment of youth cooperatives to increase bargaining power and improve access to services.
