This study was geared towards assessing graduates and lecturers’ perceptions on employability skills needed by agricultural education graduates among tertiary institutions in Lagos State. Two null hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. The target population for the study was 2040 respondents comprising 1800 graduates of Agricultural education and 260 lecturers of the same discipline. A total of 204 graduates and 26 lecturers were randomly sampled for the research work. Perceived Employability Skills Needs Questionnaire (PESNQ) was the structured instrument used to elicit the needed information from the respondents. The data collected were analyzed using mean, standard deviation and independent t-test statistical tools to test the hypotheses at a probability of 0.05. From the analyses, it was found out that graduates of Agricultural education need employability skills like Study and self-management skills, thinking and reflective skills, problem-solving skills, writing skills, reading skills, oral communication skills, IT/Information skills, research skills, team work, leadership skills, among others; to remain competent in the teaching labour market. The study recommended prioritization of all these skills and their full integration into the training programmes of Agricultural teachers in Nigeria for optimum competency and productivity.
