The study examined the perceptions and practices of continuous assessment at Ethiopian Defense University from the perspectives of teachers and students. It compared continuous assessment practices among three colleges, emphasizing the need for tailoring practices to meet the specific needs of each institution. The research used a descriptive survey design, involving 166 participants, including 109 students, 51 instructors, and 6 department heads. The results showed a generally positive perception of continuous assessment among instructors and students atEthiopian Defense University. However, there were differences in perceptions across the College of Engineering, College of Health Science, and College of Human Resource Management colleges. Instructors and students also differed on the usefulness of assessment tools for checking understanding and the importance of continuous assessment for improving academic performance. The study suggests the need for improved timely feedback and professional development programs for instructors to implement continuous assessment methods effectively.
